George E. Schaefer, III is pleased to announce that the Norfolk Circuit Court Clerk's Office will remain open between 8:45 AM and 4:45 PM Monday through Friday except holidays.

Despite budget cuts resulting in staff reduction, we are able to continue to provide full service due to technology innovations such as:

          -  digitizing all court records,

          -  providing electronic access to land records,

          -  providing e-recording for land records, and

          -  providing access to our digital case files to Virginia State Bar member attorney's.

We continue to pursue additional improvements to provide the citizen's of Norfolk the best possible service.

Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 17.1-207, the Clerk's Office is closed only on the following days.  Additional closings may be authorized during the year by the City Manager, Governor and/or the Court.  We will update this information as necessary.
